Megan { Oswego, NY }

Wow! Really all I can say is WOW everytime I shoot with Megan. She is just an amazing model and knows exactly how to work the camera! And she is also a makeup artist and photographer too! It doesn't get any better than that!

For this shoot we went to my favorite location in Oswego on the shore of Lake Ontario. Big rocks, waves, water and soft diffused light!

Even though it started out very rainy and we had to keep running for the car, totally ruined an umbrella, had a dead car battery and got a little bit wet - we had a fabulous shoot. And the rain did eventually stop and we captured some great images.

A few of my faves! Lots more can be seen here.

Jennifer & Lauren { Thompson Park }...

A wonderful Mothers Day Portrait Special with Jennifer and her daughter Lauren in Oswego, NY. We started out at Breitbeck Park and then I followed Jennifer to a fabulous, somewhat hidden location. Rudy's on Lake Ontario in Oswego. Apparently this place is famous and I never knew it existed. I would have never found it without Jennifer, actually not sure if I could find my way back alone again. I'm a pretty bad driver!

I'll be going back to Rudy's very soon with a model or two. I love the big, flat rocks and have to try out the food next time I am there. And my youngest, Emma loves to paint rocks. We usually bring a few back every time I am in Oswego from near the lighthouse.

The Williams Family...

The Williams family portrait session was so much fun. The shoot included 8 adults and 7 children. Yes, 15 people! We shot at Breitbeck Park in Oswego on a beautiful spring day, that felt a lot like summer. It was pretty hot and very windy by the shore of Lake Ontario.

We started out with some group portraits and of course I had to make them do something fun. So I had them all jump, more than once, lol. And they were really good at it. Ha ha! After that I just followed them around the park and playground as they played and enjoyed some family time together. I love capturing families in the documentary style. It's the way you see your family and kids everyday. Natural and real! No cheesy, unnatural portraits here.

My oldest daughter Kayla was with me for this Mothers Day special capturing all the crazy moments on video. I'm looking forward to seeing the final video montage from this wonderful family session. I know she captured some awesome moments as well.

A few of my favorites...

Back to School Portraits...

Tired of those boring, uninspiring school portraits? Looking for something different this year? I know I am. The school photographers don't care if your child is happy and smiling in their pictures or if they have dirt on their face. They just want to get them done and over with. There is no attention to details. You never know what they will look like until they bring them home a few weeks later. I refused to purchase my daughters school portraits last year. She looked miserable in them and had the strangest expression on her face.

Bring your children to my comfortable home studio for a fun experience and one on one attention. Your child will be the star! And I'll guarantee you'll love your photos. No waiting and no worries. Mini sessions available for the whole month of September.

Mini "Back to School" Sessions Include: $50 per child

1/2 hour studio session
Private on-line gallery

Bonus: 3 low-resolution digital files for sharing on the web and social networking sites.

Trash the Dress...

I've been wanting to do a Trash the Dress shoot for the last two years. Seriously. I finally found a model and we went to my favorite location in Oswego on the shore of Lake Ontario.

I was lucky to have such a beautiful model and perfect weather for the shoot. And some really good waves too.

Much thanks to Jenn for braving the cold water and a few spectators too.

Salmon River Outing...

Yesterday I took a little break from model shoots and portraits and went on a road trip to the Salmon River. It was such a beautiful day to be out shooting and too nice to stay home. So Emma and I and my friend and fellow photographer Michael headed north to the Salmon River.

We first went to the Salmon River Falls and hiked along the trail and hung out at the top of the falls. The trails were still snow covered and hard to manuever but we managed. I was surprised to see so many people at the falls. It was a beautiful day and very warm on the rocks along the top. Unfortunately, Emma was having too much fun and slipped and fell into some water shortly after we arrived. And this one time I didn't bring a change of clothes for her. Thank goodness she dried pretty quickly and Michael let her sit on his sweatshirt (which I think soaked up a lot of the water from her bottom).

After the Salmon River Falls, we went to McDonalds in Pulaski and had some lunch. As soon as we parked at McDonalds we noticed two Amish horse and buggies tied up in the parking lot. Of course we grabbed our cameras and took a few shots. It was a very unusual site to see.

When we finished our lunch we then went along the Salmon River to hopefully photograph the fly fisherman. We stopped at several parking areas and took some pictures and let Emma have a little fun on the shore of the river. That girl has no fear. She really had fun trying to skip stones and collecting rocks. She also pretended she was fishing.

Overall, we had a wonderful time and it was nice being outdoors enjoying the fresh air. I am planning another trip in the summer and again in the fall when the Salmon are spawning. It really is a beautiful place to visit and photograph.
