Today my husband, his friend Chris, myself, Brianna and Emma decided to go treasure hunting. My husband is an avid scuba diver. We all went out on our boat and headed towards Sylvan Beach where they knew of a shipwreck. We found the wreck right away and marked it with a buoy. My husband owns a side scan sonar rocket. They put on all their gear and jumped in the water. Not more than 5-10 minutes goes by when a thunderstorm comes through. The lake, scuba diving and thunderstorms do not mix well. Anyways, they come up to the surface and we decide to high tail it off the lake. Only one problem though. The anchor is stuck to the shipwreck below and we cannot free it. What are the chances of that? The waves and storm are growing stronger. I am down below in the cabin with the kids trying not to think about what is happening at the moment. Neither one of them has a knife to cut the anchor loose. Chris climbs in the cabin and unties the rope from the compartment located in the bow and we are free. Back to the marina in Constantia we go, bumping all the way due to the six foot waves. It's good to be on dry land again.
